After taking second in their district tournament last week, South Fremont needed to win to play-in games to make it to the state volleyball tournament. On Thursday the Cougar's won the first match with ease beating Snake River in three sets. 

South Fremont won 25-11; 25-20; 25-14. 

Berklee Yancey led the Cougars with 8 Kills, Aysiah Conger added 7 kills and Rylie Neville, Hanna Angell and Stefney Willmore each scored six kills.

Setter Addi Hill dished out 33 Assists and South Fremont posted seven aces as a team. 

The Cougars will play Kimberley at Pocatello High School Saturday at 1 p.m. The winner of that game will play in the state tournament. South Fremont has played in the play-in game each of the last two years but lost both times. 


Madison's volleyball team took second in 5A district 5-6 Thursday after playing three matches.

Madison fell to Thunder Ridge in three sets in their first match. Set scores were 20-25; 18-25; 20-25. 

Later that evening, Madison played Highland who they beat 3-2 on Tuesday but this time they won in three sets. Set scores were 25-21; 25-23; 25-20.

That win set up Madison with a rematch with Thunder Ridge and Madison lost in three sets again. Set scores were 18-25; 13-25; 18-25. 

Madison will play Skyview in the first round of the state tournament Friday.

North Fremont

After beating Rigby in the district tournament Tuesday the Huskies faced off with the Bulldogs again. This time North Fremont fell in four sets. The set scores were 19-25; 25-18; 23-25; 16-25.
