Madison boys’ soccer team hosted Thunder Ridge Monday night in the bobcat stadium at their final game of the regular season.

Thunder Ridge struck first with two early goals in the first half. With four minutes left in the half, Thunder scored off of a penalty kick inside the box caused by a handball. The half concluded with Thunder Ridge up 3-0.

Thirteen minutes into the second half, Madison’s striker Adam Hernandez scored a goal slamming the top left corner from twenty yards out, cutting the lead to two goals. This gave the team a new confidence that they could win the game.

“When Spidey (Hernandez) hit the banger from outside the eighteen, we felt like we had hope to win,” said Madison’s Brock Fullmer.

However, with eleven minutes left in the second half, Thunder Ridge answered with a final goal hitting the bottom left corner shifting the score to 4-1.

What he felt the biggest factor in the game was, he said, ”Intensity, desire to win, they just couldn’t find it.”

The team will play in the district tournament beginning Saturday October 12, 2019.
