Throughout the NFL season, we’ll check in with former Idaho State football players and other notable locals currently in the NFL. Here’s an update after Week 12 of the regular season.

Taysom Hill (Highland HS) — BYU, New Orleans Saints

Josh Hill (Blackfoot HS) — Idaho State, New Orleans Saints

Saints teammates Taysom Hill and Josh Hill each made one reception Sunday in the Saints’ 34-31 home win over Carolina.

Josh Hill, a Blackfoot native and tight end for New Orleans, made his 12-yard grab during a first-quarter drive that ended with a 41-yard field goal.

Pocatello native Taysom Hill made a catch for no gain in the fourth quarter.

Saints kicker Wil Lutz made a 33-yard field goal as time expired to seal a 34-31 victory. New Orleans (9-2) plays at Atlanta on Thanksgiving.

Dirk Koetter — Idaho State (1977, 79-81), Atlanta Falcons

Tampa bay snapped the Falcons’ two-game winning streak with a 35-22 win Sunday at Atlanta.

The Falcons’ offense, which is coordinated by Idaho State alumnus and Pocatello native Dirk Koetter, gained 337 yards, but struggled on the ground, with 57 yards rushing on 19 attempts.

Atlanta (3-8) hosts New Orleans on Thanksgiving.
