The East Idaho Rockies lost four games in their back-to-back doubleheaders this weekend against the Twin Falls Cowboys and the Minico Strom.
In their first game, East Idaho fell 12-9. The Rockies led 4-3 after the first inning but Twin Falls’ scored three runs in the second to a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Grady Rasmussen went 2/3 at the plate, Curtis Drake hit a double and Moki Jensen hit a triple.
Jensen pitched a little over three innings allowing ten hits and nine runs with one strikeout and three walks. Wyatt Gilbert threw eight pitches with one strikeout. Trey Saathoff pitched three innings allowing five hits and three runs with a strikeout and three walks.
In their second game against Twin Falls, the Rockies fell 11-0 in five innings. Twin Falls scored five of their runs in the second inning and East Idaho could never quite get things going offensively.
McGwire Jephson had the only two hits for the Rockies.
Gilbert pitched 1.2 innings allowing four hits and six runs with two strikeouts and two walks. Taran Clark pitched a little over three innings allowing six hits and five runs with three strikeouts and three walks.
Curtis Drake and Dayne Lounsbury made a double play.
In their first game against Minico, The Rockies fell 7-3 in ten innings. After a 1-1 first inning the teams stayed tied for the next seven innings until Minico outscored the Rockies 5-1 in the tenth innings.
Clark, Saathoff and Dylan Rydalch each went 2/5 and Landen Drake, Jephson and Rasmussen each hit doubles.
Rydalch pitched eight innings allowing five hits and two runs with three strikeouts and one walk. Curtis Drake pitched two innings allowing five hits and five runs with two strikeouts and one walk.
In their final game of the weekend, East Idaho fell 13-11 to Minico. The team’s started out pretty even and the Rockies were up 5-4 after four innings but a seven-run fifth powered the Rockies to a victory.
Curtis Drake went 3/5 at the plate with two doubles and a single, Peyton Boudero went 2/2 at the plate with a double and Saathoff went 2/5 at the plate. Clark and Jephson also hit doubles.
Landen Darke pitched a little over four innings allowing twelve hits and 11 runs with four strikeouts and three walks. Boudero pitched a little over two innings allowing two hits and two runs with a strikeout and a walk.
The Rockies next games are a doubleheader with Pocatello in Rigby with games starting at 4 and 6 p.m.
