Madison’s Orion Stokes pins Idaho Fall’s wrestler, Keman Longua with a “barbed wire” combination Wednesday night in Rexburg.

The Madison wrestling team defeated Idaho Falls, 45-36, Wednesday night it Rexburg by recording pins, two forfeits and a decision. In the 182-pound match, Madison’s Orion Stokes dominated the Tiger’s Keman Longua by using his strength and length to switch from a far-side cradle to a “barbed wire” pin in the first round.

“Orion has been wrestling well and I have been trying to get him as many tough matches as we can,” Aaron Peterson, Madison’s head coach, said after the match.

Also winning by pins were Ikaika Jensen at 126, Josh Benson at 138, David Wheeler at 14 and Jeffrey Williams at 152. Jenson had an outstanding match as he dominated Idaho Falls’ Erik Tremayne by leading 11-1 before recording his pin at the 5:03 mark. Roy Gunderson defeated the Tiger’s McKeon Beard, 3-1 in hard match by getting a 2-point near fall late in the match by tilting Beard for three seconds.

The Bobcats will be traveling to Boise for the Rollie Lane Invitational this weekend for their next competition.
