UPPER VALLEY – Madison and Sugar-Salem School Districts closed today following concerns over snowy road conditions. Fremont School District experienced a partial shut down.

Early Wednesday morning, Madison School District opted to close for the day.

“Under the advisement of Madison County Road and Bridge, MSD321 is closed for today,” said Dr. Geoffrey Thomas.

Sugar-Salem also closed after initially considering starting following a two-hour delay.

“Due to the snow plows inability to get many of our roads open this morning, we are canceling school for today, January 15th,” said the school district via its Facebook page.

In Fremont County, officials there opted to cancel North Fremont Jr. and Sr. High Schools as well as Ashton Elementary. The remaining schools opened following a two-hour delay, said the district.

“All schools at the south end of Fremont School District are still in session,” it said.
