The Rexburg Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple will open for limited use on June 8.
It is one of 11 temples that will reopen and begin its Phase 1. This phase only involves living husband-and wife sealings made by appointment, says the church in a news release.
According to the church’s newsroom, the reopening of temples will be done in four phases with the first being for husband and wife sealings.
Phase 2 involves all temple ordinances for living individuals, Phase 3 includes continuing providing ordinances for living individuals and providing proxy ordinances for ancestors in a restricted manner. Phase 4 involves opening the temples for full operations.
It wasn’t known when the Rexburg Temple would move into Phase 2.
The other temples scheduled to open on June 8 include: Aba Nigeria Temple, Accra Ghana Temple, Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple, Indianapolis Indiana Temple, Lisbon Portugal Temple, Lubbock Texas Temple, Meridian Idaho Temple, Papeete Tahiti Temple, Reno Nevada Temple and the Sapporo Japan Temple.
