REXBURG − The Rexburg Police Department is still searching for 14-year-old Coltin McMinn. Chief Shane Turman said right now, as far as they know, he’s in no danger and this isn’t an abduction.

Turman said the family thought everything was going well until they found a note that said he was sorry for leaving, that he would miss them and never forget them.

Turman said they’ve been receiving some tips, that they’re following up on. The last time they know that he was in contact with someone was a few days ago. They’ve checked on different locations where he’s reported to have been seen, including near Idaho Falls.

“As of yet, we have not been able to locate him. We’re still searching,” he said.

Turman said they’ve entered him into the national missing children’s system, contacted local media and are doing all they can to find McMinn.

He said there was one report that McMinn may have shaved his head but it is unconfirmed. “Keep your eyes open and if you see anything call or contact us so we can get him home safe,” Turman said.
