Today at 5 p.m. Eastern Idaho Public Health will be announcing the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Madison County. The announcement is not open to the public and will be held at the Madison County Courthouse.
This will be the eighth case of the virus within Idaho to be announced.
According to the State's updated website on the virus, coronavirus.idaho.gov, Idaho has monitored a total of 76 people for signs of the virus. The health department is no longer monitoring 39 of those individuals. There are 295 people who have been tested through the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories. There are 58 people being tested through commercial laboratories. The total number of lab-confirmed cases of the virus within Idaho is 8. These numbers were updated at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 17.
