Fremont School District Byron Stutzman sent out the following press release Monday night.
The Fremont County Joint School District Board of Trustees met tonight and approved the district's recommendation to institute a “soft close” starting Wednesday.
We will have school tomorrow Tuesday, March 17th. Buses will run their scheduled routes tomorrow for all students who can attend school tomorrow. Please send your students to school tomorrow unless they are sick, have a health deficiency, or live with someone who may have immune issues.
We highly recommend that parents keep students home from Wednesday until further notice. Our current projected date for student return to school is April 6, 2020.
Additionally, tomorrow, teachers will help your children understand our strategies to educate them until April 6. Our goal is to create a system where our students do not digress in their learning, but continue to flourish educationally.
Our goal is to have that system up and running by Monday, March 23, 2020.
We have the best teachers in Idaho, and I am confident we can help your students learn in this stressful time.
Beginning Wednesday, March 18th, schools will be closed so teachers can prepare for a blended delivery of education. As the situation evolves in regards to COVID-19, we will provide further information.
Thank you for your input, patience and understanding as we continue to respond to the most recent information and recommendations from government and health officials.
If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your student’s school.
