Fremont Emergency Management is warning about flooding in the county today. It’s expected the flooding will continue until 2 p.m.

The flooding is a result of 1.75 inches of recent rains and snow melting that will impact rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying flood-prone locations, it said.

It’s expected that flooding will impact Ashton, Marysville, Henrys Lake, Parker, Drummond, Ashton Reservoir, Last Chance, Island Park Reservoir, Ponds Lodge, Chester, Shotgun Village, Macks Inn, St Anthony, Island Park Village, Egin, Warm River, Ashton Hill, Harriman State Park, Mesa Falls State Park and Big Springs.

The management organization urges motorists to avoid driving to those communities.

“Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads,” it said. “Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.”
