In response to the Journey’s Summer

program article:

I’m proud of Kimball for his hard work at Anytime Fitness! Journeys Developmental Disability Agency is doing their part to keep America the land of opportunity. Employment programs are a vital element to equal opportunities, as are anti-hunger programs.

SNAP, commonly known as food stamps, is America’s most effective anti-hunger program. 185,303 Idahoans receive monthly SNAP benefits. Recently, the House of Representatives passed a farm bill that would take SNAP away from people struggling to find work, such as the Journey’s Agency Program participants — even though SNAP helps people find employment.

Luckily, the Senate’s farm bill is bipartisan and defends SNAP. We need to make sure it stays that way. I call on Representative Simpson and Senator Risch to support a final farm bill that’s bipartisan and ensures that Idahoans will not go hungry.
