Now that summer is nearly upon us, expect more riots in major cities across the USA. As atmospheric temperatures rise, so will the level of hot tempers and political pandemonium.

No, I’m not the drama king of southeastern Idaho, but rather a realist. As the saying goes, “history repeats itself.”

Liberal mayors and city councils in major metro regions outside of Idaho are defunding police. Perhaps worst of all is New York City, a place I really liked and lived in for eight years in my youth before moving to Rigby. Ultra-liberal Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio plans to cut the police budget there by a billion dollars. Thanks to the lack of leadership and wisdom on the part of de Blasio & Company, subways are longer safe. Muggings are way up. There are places in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx where, more than ever, it’s unsafe to travel after sunset. It should be no surprise that homicides and other serious crimes in New York and other big cities are increasing by as much as 50 percent.

Remember when former President Donald Trump offered assistance to crack down hard on the terrible destruction from BLM, Antifa and other revolutionaries?

Love him, hate him, like him or dislike him, Trump had the right idea.

Responsible Americans are disgusted with the absurdity of the political far left. Unfortunately, there are too many liberal Democratic Party leaders from President Joe Biden downward to local levels of government in blue states who are oblivious and ignorant by not doing nearly enough to quell rioting.

The Gem State is now the fastest growing state, per capita, in the USA, and why are we so popular?

Much of our swift growth may be attributed to conservative Idaho values. From Rexburg to Boise and from Montpelier to Coeur d’Alene, our heads of government are a tough, but peaceful lot, who have zero tolerance for rioters. Serious civil disruptions are non-existent in our state thanks to a sense of justice with a pro-law and a pro-cop attitude.

Liberal congressional leaders in Washington, D.C. and other urban areas across America could learn a good lesson in civics from commonsense Idaho legislators and law enforcement. If out-of-state leftist leaders were to pay more attention to our way of life, our great country would be peaceful again and in much better shape.
