REXBURG — The Brigham Young University-Idaho students that created the haunted straw maze last year have moved the festivities to Archer this year.

Creators of the new maze, Derek Jones and Mitchell Stoker, have put into action a way to help boost the economy in Archer and celebrate the fall season. Not only is this year's maze bigger and more difficult, but it is also partnered with Big Jud's restaurant in Archer. Coupons and discounts for Big Jud's are given at the maze.

Jones wanted to get the whole community more involved with the maze. They moved the location south of Rexburg behind Big Jud's and involved other businesses to give a boost to the economy.

Stoker said they used more bales this year as well as a more difficult and fun design. They will, however, continue to haunt the maze on the weekends throughout October.

The hours for the maze are 5 to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. The maze will be closed on Sundays.

The boys who teamed up with BYU-Idaho professors for marketing have a website called www.strawmaze.com. There are also discounts available if you text the word "maze" to 53318.
