Eastern Idaho is predicted to experience a surge of winter weather this week around Wednesday. Here are some individual weather forecasts for a few of our local cities:

REXBURG − According to the National Weather service Website the week should be clear except for Wednesday and Wednesday night.

“Wednesday: Snow showers likely,” the website read. “Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. North wind 7 to 12 mph becoming north 16 to 21 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.”

According to the site, there will be a 30 percent chance of snow on Wednesday evening before midnight. It will be mostly cloudy with a 14 degree low. There is little to no snow accumulation expected.

SUGAR CITY − There will likely be rain on Tuesday with a low of 30 degrees and wind as fast as 29 mph, according to the National Weather Service Website. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation.

“Wednesday: Snow Showers likely,” the website read. “Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. North wind 8 to 13 mph becoming north 16 to 21 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.”

On Wednesday evening there is a 30 percent chance of snow showers before midnight with a low of 14 degrees with little or no snow accumulation.

ST. ANTHONY − According to the National Weather service website, the week in St. Anthony will be sunny and windy except for Wednesday.

“Wednesday: Rain showers likely before 7 a.m., then showers likely,” the website said. “Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north 17 to 22 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Showers are likely before 7 p.m. Wednesday. It is expected to be mostly cloudy with a low of 14 degrees. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation with a possibility of accumulating less than an inch of new snow.

ASHTON − According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday and Wednesday could see some dampened weather.

There is an 80 percent chance for rain Tuesday evening after midnight with a low of 29 degrees. Winds could reach 18 to 28 mph.

“Wednesday: Snow showers. High near 36,” the website read. “North northeast wind 6 to 11 mph becoming north 16 to 21 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.”

On Wednesday evening there is a 40 percent chance of snow before midnight with a low of 13 degrees. New snow could be accumulated at less than a half inch.

ISLAND PARK − According to the National Weather Service website, the area could experience rain before midnight on Tuesday and then snow showers. The low is estimated at 24 degrees and breezy. Winds could get as high as 36 mph on Tuesday and there is a 90 percent chance of precipitation. With new snow accumulation at around one inch.

Island Park could see two possible inches of snow Wednesday.

“Snow showers. High near 30,” according to the website. “North wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches.”

Later on Wednesday night the area has a 40 percent chance of gaining another half inch of snow before midnight. The low is predicted to be 8 degrees.
