FREMONT COUNTY – Sheriff’s deputies kept busy during the 4th of July holiday handling numerous calls for assistance.

“My guys were very busy. We were really busy responding to calls. They were all the way from cattle being out on the road to people shooting where other people didn’t appreciate it,” said Fremont County Sheriff Len Humphries.

Traffic was bumper to bumper along Highway 20, he said.

“People were trying to get on U.S. 20 near Shotgun. It was a long wait,” he said.

Humphries also reported that officers responded to a rollover around 4 p.m. on Friday on the Ashton Hill. Those involved were transported to the Madison Memorial Hospital where they were later treated and released
