The annual Thanksgiving Morning Celebration will again be held at 10 a.m. in the Rexburg Tabernacle Civic Center, Thursday, November 25, 2021 and is a free event. A community choir has been rehearsing for weeks to prepare seasonal songs for the program, which will also feature small ensembles, and a narrator with a text of praise and gratitude for remembering the purpose of this holiday. This program has a 40 year tradition in Rexburg and is a gathering place for family and neighbors on Thanksgiving morning to express gratitude as they listen and participate in the celebration, but also to greet folks that know this is the place to see former residents who return for the holiday. This has also become a tradition for families to participate in the choir as part of their gathering. Steve Dresen, director of choral studies at Bonneville High School is the choral director; Jaylene Nix accompanies at the piano. As always, the historic pipe organ in the tabernacle, the first in the upper valley, will also be heard played, by Riley Palmer. Gwyn Harris, program coordinator, encourages people new to the area to come enjoy the program and get acquainted with what talent there is in this town. The City of Rexburg and Rexburg Arts sponsors this annual free event.
