Tough night for Lionz

Things were going well for the Lionz to start the fourth quarter. They were up 14-12 and to start the quarter they returned a kickoff deep into Mustang territory. Then Zack Buck threw a costly interception in the red zone. It was downhill from there for the Lionz.
It all came down to the last play for the Lionz.
"There was a lot of controversy on the last play of the game," said coach Jason Stucki.
It was a game that the Lionz had quite a few penalties in. They had seven penalties in just the third quarter alone. Turnovers also plagued the Lionz. On back-to-back possessions in the first quarter the Lionz fumbled the ball.
"It was a close game but turnovers cost us," said Stucki.
The play of the game for the Lionz came in the third quarter. Deep into their own territory on fourth and 17, the Lionz got gutsy and ran a fake punt in the which they got a first down.
It was not enough though. Just a few plays later the Lionz were forced to punt.
Up next for the Lionz is a reunion of the AA championship game from last year. The Lionz square off against the Treasure Valley Spartans (5-2).
"If we win this game we will win the division and a home playoff game," said Stucki.
The game will be played at home in Sugar City at 6 p.m. on Saturday. This is the last game of the regular season for the Lionz.
