REXBURG -- 4A power Bonneville didn't waste very long Wednesday night showing off its enormous talent.

The Lady Bees scored the first eight points of the contest and rolled to a 57-48 win over the Madison Lady Bobcats at Madison High School.

Although the Lady Bobcats played solid at the defensive end of the court, they couldn't generate enough offense to keep pace with Bonneville.

A basket by Madison's Kaylee Manner, however, pulled the Lady Bobcats to within 16-10 after the opening period.

In the second period, Madison managed just four free throws for much of the period. Manner's basket in the final minute was the Lady Bobcats lone basket of the period.

In the mean time, the Lady Bees stretched the lead out to 13 at 25-12. Bonneville settled for a 28-16 halftime lead on a 3-pointer by Kylee Searle at the buzzer.

Searle led all scorers in the first half with 13 points.

Manner and Brin Neff each finished with six in the first half.

For the game, Neff finished with 15 points and Sarah Erickson had eight in the loss.

"I felt like they really battled," said Madison coach Traci Peterson of her club.
